Withdrawal Symptoms
I'm running out of the drugs tonight
I can't tell my left from my right
Again a habit's teasing me
With a yearning in my sight
As the last darkness falls
I find I have noone to call
I know I've run out of favors
When my best friends won't pick up at all
So I'm out on the street
Another night of trick or treat
The door manners aren't kind
The candy isn't as sweet
So I look for cash where I can
Stealing trash out of some bins
But the night's getting older
Hiding out from the man
It's four in the morning
The shakes arrive without warning
Heaving in the alleyway
Only the rats mourn my passing
Then the sun comes up
Another highless dream to pass up
Even my bed is no protection
From backing out of living it up
